We’re Moving to Paperless Payouts

CrossLink Publishing, along with its imprints Zion Press and New Harbor Press, has announced that effective July 1, we are moving to paperless transactions across the board. This includes accepting only credit cards or electronic equivalents for invoice amounts, and paying royalties via ACH for US customers.

This change will significantly increase our efficiency, eliminate the 7% of returned or uncashed checks caused by old addresses, and—most importantly—allow CrossLink to pay our authors much more frequently. We will move to a quarterly payout schedule effective September 2026, with the goal of moving to monthly payouts in the future.

  • Speed: ACH (Automated Clearing House) deposits hit your account directly—often within 24 to 48 hours of the payout date. No waiting on the post office.
  • Reliability: There is no risk of a check being stolen from a mailbox, lost in transit, or sent to an old address if you move.
  • Convenience: You don’t have to make a trip to the bank or use a mobile app to deposit a physical check.
  • Security: We use an encrypted, bank-grade payment portal to process royalties. Your account details are tokenized—meaning they are converted into a secure code that only the banking network can read. Once entered, your full account numbers are masked and hidden from view, even to our internal staff.

Consider this: every time you hand someone a paper check, your routing and account numbers are printed right on the bottom for all to see. Providing that information via this secure web page is actually much safer than letting a paper check float through the mail system.
